Useful information

The first day’s workshop will provide an introduction and discussion of important TourMIS features, and focus primarily on the topic of benchmarking tourism destinations. This workshop is a unique outlet to provide training on how to use TourMIS and for discussion on possible future steps in developing the system. The session is particularly interesting for data inputters and everyone else interested in the system.

The International Seminar on Knowledge Sharing for Tourism Destinations – from Data to Action, taking place on September, 12 is jointly organised by the European Travel Commission, the World Tourism Organization, European Cities Marketing and MODUL University. Information is the key to success in a rapidly evolving and global economy. Managing information efficiently, from creation to dissemination within DMOs and with the industry, is mandatory to remain competitive. This international seminar deals with the strategic role of knowledge as a driver of innovation and competitiveness for tourism organisations and businesses. International speakers will share the stage offering insights on the use of information-driven knowledge in formulating tourism strategies and case examples on knowledge transfer across the tourism supply chain. An interactive workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn innovative tools and techniques to organise communication and share knowledge.

The organisers thank the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO), the Vienna Tourist Board and Amadeus for kindly sponsoring the events.
