    Mr.Santander has been Executive Director of ETC since April 2012. Under the leadership of Mr. Santander, ETC continues supporting member NTOs in their portfolio of marketing and research activities in major long-haul markets with the aim of strengthening and increasing competitiveness of Destination Europe.

  • Sir Alan Parker

    Film Director

    Sir Alan Parker is a director, writer and producer. His feature films have won nineteen BAFTA awards, ten Golden Globes and ten Oscars. His films include Bugsy Malone, Midnight Express, Mississippi Burning, The Commitments, Evita, Fame, Birdy, Angel Heart and Angela’s Ashes. He was founding chairman of the UK Film Council, a position he held for five years, and prior to that was chairman of the BFI. Sir Alan received the CBE in 1995 and a knighthood in 2002. He is also an Officier Des Arts et Lettres (France).

  • Marco Ferraz

    President, BRAZTOA

    Mr. Marco Ferraz became President of BRAZTOA (Brazilian Tour Operators Association) in May 2011 and is also the director of Monark Tourism. Heading up the Brazilian Tour Operators Association, with 97 members, Mr. Ferraz is focused on promoting actions and partnerships that add value to the business activities of BRAZTOA’s members and is well known for the number of projects that he has implemented in his role as a President.

The European Travel Commission revealed its first findings of the extensive market intelligence gathered during several industry seminars and workshops held throughout 2013 in the frame of the "Destination Europe 2020" initiative.

Parallel to the consultation process, a series of campaigns were carried out to enhance the visibility of Europe, one of which was the EuroShorts video campaign. During the press conference ETC premiered its new inspirational short film to promote Europe as a tourism destination to the rest of the world. The film was introduced by film director Sir Alan Parker, who headed the jury that selected the creative treatment.

Finally, being one of the key target markets of the initiative, the conference also focused on the rapidly growing Brazilian outbound travel market. The ETC announced a new initiatives to develop the outbound travel market from Brazil.
