Abstract

This study was commissioned by the European Travel Commission (ETC) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to assess the growth potential of the Russian outbound travel market, especially for Europe.

The Russian Federation is currently one of the world’s fastest growing outbound travel markets, and this growth seems set to continue.

The study has involved both desk research and primary research – interviews with the travel trade in Russia and Europe, plus consumer interviews and focus groups with Russians who have either already visited Europe, or who plan a trip within the next three years.
